When’s the Best Time for a Maternity Photography Session?

Scheduling your maternity session is a bit of medical science and art. As some mothers go into labor a few weeks earlier, it's almost impossible to get the pregnancy bump photos after the baby is born. Also, scheduling your session far earlier is not suggested because you want your glowing baby bump to be big and beautiful.

So, here are my suggestions on when you should schedule your maternity session. 1. Wait until your baby bump is big but not too big

The goal of a maternity photography session is to capture the magic and glow of a woman that is able to grow and nourish a life inside. This means we like to wait until the third trimester. However, most women find the third trimester starts with feeling great (you still feel great, can move pretty comfortably and enjoy the ultimate sensations of your baby’s motions) and then period of discomfort kicks in (when sleeping for long stretches is challenging and your body feels a bit cumbersome).

2. Schedule between 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy

By aiming for that window between 28 and 36 weeks to schedule your pregnancy photoshoot, we celebrate the beauty of your baby bump - during a time period when you’re still feeling really great and not worried about going into labor.

Tip: The best time to book your session is at the beginning of your second-trimester.

3. You can move comfortably

To enjoy your pregnancy photoshoot, you need to be able to move comfortably and safely around the photography locations. The majority of my maternity sessions take place in outdoor photography locations in Seoul. Your physical comfort and safety is my top priority. When you are near to the end of third trimester, your belly feels too big for you to move comfortably. It will become harder to hold on to some poses with same ease as you would have a few weeks prior.

For you to feel comfortable without having to worry about what to wear, Sidiaz Photography studio provides you all the maternity gowns and accessories with no extra costs. You do not need to purchase anything special for your maternity session. Just get your makeup and hair done from a stylist and wear something comfortable.
